when i shoot sports, you need to be able to set your own shutter speeds, ie 250th or 500th etc, so make sure your camera has shutter priority mode, and really you need to be able to change lenses etc, and a flash sync of possibly 200th of a second. Check out the canon and nikon entry level models.
